CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

Level I Yoga
Discover the benefits of yoga for the first time or refresh your skills. Level I yoga is an introductory class that gets you acquainted with your body and how it moves. In Level I we work on postural challenges, basic standing, seated and supine postures as well as basic breath work and yoga philosophy. All students must begin in Level I unless special permission has been given.

Level II Yoga
Continuing from where we left off in Level I we begin to move deeper into postures, introducing more advanced postures as well as fine tuning those previously learnt. In Level II we introduce inversions and arm balances such as shoulderstand and headstand.

Level III Yoga
In Level III you are expected to know the basic postures very well, confidently do headstand and shoulderstand and know where the challenges lie within your own body. Here we move deeper into the more subtle aspects of yoga asana, breath and philosophy.

Restorative Yoga
This class is for all levels. Restorative Yoga is a great place to begin and a worthy place to return to on a regular basis. Restorative grounds you into your body, working therapeutically in problem areas with a strong focus on relieving the body and mind of stress. The postures done here are very supported and quiet allowing time for reflection and deep connection between mind and body. This is a gentle class but often the most beneficial.

Specialty Group Classes
Yoga Parties, Couples Yoga, Back Bending, and Yoga for Fertility are examples of what has been done in the past. What ever you are interested in or would like to delve into more deeply but can't find quite the right class. Perhaps you would just like to share the benefits of yoga with your family and friends, we can help meet your needs.

KARMA YOGA COMMUNITY:

"Karma yoga" is the yoga of service, as we grow together we will begin initiating service projects. I look forward to hearing your ideas.

Namaste.

PRIVATE CLASSES:

Full Life Yoga offers private classes to help you where ever you are at right now.

In a private class we can focus on problem areas where you have an imbalance that is creating pain, weakness, tightness or a combination of these.

You may be looking to enhance your personal practice. One-on-one instruction can help bring your home practice to an entirely new level.

Perhaps you are not comfortable in a group setting; here is another great reason to book a private class.

If your are not sure just what it is you need please feel free to call. We can determine what will work for you.

WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW FOR MY FIRST YOGA CLASS?

  • "Asana" means pose, the sanskrit word for every yoga pose ends in this, ex: trikonasana, triangle pose. This is the physical branch of yoga, other branches include Karma Yoga - the yoga of service and Bhakti Yoga - the yoga of devotion.
  • Avoid eating for 2 to 4 hours before class, the more you have eaten the longer you should wait.
  • Wear comfortable clothing, preferably quite fitted so I can see what your body is doing right and if it needs correction.
  • Communicate with the teacher, if you have a question ask it
  • If you have your own mat bring it.
  • Have fun :)
